Relives school shooting tragedy


(CBS News) Newtown, Connecticut - one of the fathers of Sandy Hook Elementary students today that he always believed that Newton, Connecticut the safest place in America. People in Littleton, Colorado is thinking the same thing about their town after shooting up Columbine.

Thirteen years later, the wounds have improved again.

It was April 20, 1999. Two Columbine students entered the school armed themselves and opened fire. They killed 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves.

Frank DeAngelis was the principal at Columbine High School. He said that still haunt him and did not return. When he heard about today's events, it was a shock.

"Immediately my heart broken and just kind of sick to be honest with you," he said.

Her first thoughts were of the moments of pain spread the news.

"What weighs on my mind is when parents stay in the room, and students do not come to them as other parents get their children," said DeAngelis. "I'm sure every parent in Connecticut today, when they heard the news that a child wondering where their child in the classroom."

These feelings have been flooded again this year, drawing theater in Aurora, Colorado, about 20 miles east of Columbine High.

"I think the question asks when you go out and talk repeatedly in what could prevent it from happening? Something And I still say repeatedly, in what is cause so much hatred in the hearts of people who are willing to go to elementary school to hurt or kill children? Where to start?
